Milwaukee M18 18-Volt Cordless 1/2-Inch Hammer Drill

Milwaukee 18-Volt Cordless 1/2-Inch Hammer Drill rating:
4.5 stars

I have used many battery operated screw guns in my career. All have done a fair job but my most recent has exceeded my expectations. The Milwaukee 18-Volt Cordless 1/2-Inch Hammer Drill comes from a well-known, reputable company. In fact, I would say Milwaukee and Makita are the top two brands for cordless drills. Although a little pricey, its well worth the expense in the long run, especially if you will be using it frequently. No drill I’ve used has ever been perfect and this one is no exception. I would prefer a hard case to carry it in and store it with instead of the canvas bag it comes in. You have to be careful when handling it because of the weight to torque ratio. If you aren’t careful it can really put your wrist in a bind. Although, I like this aspect of it (I prefer to have too much power than not enough) some of you may not. It’s also nice to have the capability to switch to the hammer drill setting when drilling through tile or concrete. I have put this drill through a lot (dropped off the roof of a house, fell off my truck as I was driving off, and several other falls, not to mention I keep it stored in a black tool box outside in 100+ degree weather) over the past two years and its still going. Aside from forgetting to charge the batteries, every time I’ve picked it up, its worked! I don’t have any complaints about the placement of switches or the grip but again, its a preference thing. The parts are easy to find and you know you’re getting quality items because of the name. Overall, I would recommend this drill to any serious do-it-yourself-er or contractor.
