I got another e-mail from a reader asking the following questions:
“Where did you get your construction and DIY experience?” -Jim, FL
I grew up in the construction industry. My father has been a builder since he was 17 and now, with over 45 years experience, has gradually passed all his construction knowledge and tricks of the trade down to me. While studying business in college, I started my own tiling business at the age of 18, which eventually led into a flooring business. After 5 successful years of that, I started my own remodeling business and eventually branched out into new construction. Every job I do, I learn more and more and what I don’t know, I enjoy learning from the experts that I know and work with everyday. There is no better teacher than experience itself. I have worked on hundreds of new homes, restaurants, tons of remodels, a lot of handy-man work, many flooring jobs, other commercial and residential work, decks, patios, furniture, etc. (Not to mention lots of honey-do lists at home) If it can be built or fixed, I’ve more than likely tried! For me, there’s nothing like it. I love watching something transform or work right before my eyes, and all because of the hard work I put into it. One of my goals for this blog is to help you share in that same joy.
